How to speak Dolphin: Review

How to Speak Dolphin
My favorite book of all time is How to Speak Dolphin by Ginny Rorby.
It is a book about a little boy who has low functioning autism.
The main character is his sister. Adam loves dolphins so they start a dolphin therapy program. His sister does not like the fact that the dolphin is in captivity so she tries to set her free.
It is a tear jerking adventure that really speaks to me because my brother is high functioning.
You get to see a lot of character development from all the characters and all of their emotions are understandable, explainable, and feel so real. The vocabulary is not challenging, so anyone can pick it up and read it. Yet, it takes a deep understanding to fulling pick up on all of the topics, this makes this book great for everyone. If this book sounds interesting to you please cheak it out here https://www.amazon.com/How-Speak-Dolphin-Ginny-Rorby/dp/054567607X
Now I will get into spoilers.
Lily meets a girl in the park who is blind. I love how Rorby picks characters that really help you to embrace your differences. Yet, she really makes sure to show the character's flaws. She perfectly captures how Zoe can feel isolated and unaware because she can not see.How Adam has a hard time navigating the world. And how Lily can feel crushed by the burdens of her life. It really makes the characters resonate with you long after you read this book.
Lily lost her mom in a car crash. The way the book describes her agonising loss can feel so real to someone who has gone through a loss. She is living with her step dad who she struggles calling, “Dad” her development through recognising family is not just in blood is a great lesson to a reader no matter what age.
This book desperately wants me to make a difference in the world. It shows that no matter what age, you can make a difference. So, go out into the world and make your mark, positively.
